Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Job Summary
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer-owned heavy equipment, aerial lifts, and tools using independent judgment. Utilize proprietary technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and pull diagnostic data from hundreds of makes and models. Practice safe job practices while maintaining electronic documentation of all work performed daily. Assist in training lower-level technicians and support equipment pick-up and delivery of parts. Travel to customer job sites for repairs when required, maintaining the service vehicle in a clean and professional manner. Perform duties Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime pay after 40 hours, subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
- This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
- Employment is contingent on passing a background check
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
