Job Summary
Diagnose and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical, and hydraulic components on heavy construction equipment, trucks, and trailers in a field environment. Utilize laptops for diagnostics and safely assemble or disassemble parts while writing and completing service reports. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot aftertreatment systems, and operate various tools including cranes. Work the day shift Monday through Friday with extensive travel across Indiana and southwest Ohio to complete repairs at multiple job sites. Participate in company training programs and take on new challenges in both shop and field settings.
Required Qualifications
- Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane
- Operation of a variety of types of equipment
- Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
- Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems
- Hydraulic troubleshooting
- Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment
- Ability to properly document work completed
- Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both the shop and field environment
- Home base for this opportunity will be in Greenfield, Indiana area
- Extensive travel involved for this position
- Travel to complete repairs on multiple jobsites across Indiana
- Travel to southwest Ohio region
Desired Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar
- 5+ years' experience
- Crane knowledge
- Desire to take on new challenges
