Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose and repair Caterpillar construction equipment in the field using Cat ET; perform diagnostics, servicing hydraulic, electrical, transmission, and undercarriage systems, as well as installations, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on Caterpillar diesel-powered machines. Operate independently in the field with a company-provided service truck to minimize downtime on job sites around Houston, TX. Must have proper diagnostic tools, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: welding/fabrication and hands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors; OEM or dealership service training; advanced proficiency with Caterpillar diagnostic platforms. Must be prepared to work in a mobile, field-service environment across Mustang Cat’s 35-county territory.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License with clean record
- Must own proper tools for diagnostics and repairs
- Experience using diagnostic systems such as Cat ET
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, transmissions, and undercarriage systems
