Job Summary
Repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and Empire line allied machines, systems, and components in the field. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures of machine and engine systems; repair, recondition, and maintain equipment; prepare service reports; plan and control cost of repair jobs. Travel to remote locations; accept out-of-town assignments with extended overnight stays; communicate information and recommendations to clients and management. Maintain safety and compliance with company policies; demonstrate equipment knowledge including hydraulics, powertrain, engines, Tier IV emissions, and warranty procedures. Required to have strong English communication, CDL if applicable, MSHA card when needed, and maintain required personal tools; provide on-the-job training as assigned; work overtime as needed; support customer relations and align with corporate values. The role emphasizes field service on Caterpillar equipment, safety-sensitive work environment, and the ability to work in varying weather and physically demanding conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- 6 months related experience
- English literacy (speak, read, write)
- Own and maintain personal tools
- Ability to complete skills assessment (eTRAIN test)
