Job Summary
Conduct environmental clean-up activities, ensure hazardous-materials incident mitigation, and perform chemical transfers. Execute technical rescue activities, chemical firefighting tasks, and standby confined space rescue work. Respond to various emergencies as requested and provide dangerous goods consulting. Complete work-related documentation and reporting while adhering to all organizational policies and safety acts. Participate in team meetings, training, and job-specific health and safety instruction. Maintain confidentiality and report workplace hazards or accidents. Operate equipment efficiently and safely, preserving a harassment-free environment.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- Pre-service Fire, Medical, or Police training
- NFPA 472 Hazardous Material Operations
- NFPA 1001 level 1 or 2
- Valid DZ license with a suitable drivers abstract (standard transmission – up to 18 speed)
- On-call work availability for emergency response
- Valid Certification in First Aid/CPR
- Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Willingness to work at extreme heights and within confined spaces
- Participate in pre-employment and post-incident drug & alcohol testing
- Professional and trustworthy, with a customer focus to his/her work
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date
Desired Qualifications
- Hazardous materials and/or environmental experience
- Vacuum truck experience
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Confined space awareness
- Reliable means of personal transportation
- Bilingual English/French or other languages
