Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic (Shop) position for Dobbs Equipment. Responsible for repair, diagnosis, overhaul, and reconditioning maintenance of heavy equipment and components; perform inspections, assemble machines, and maintain records of time, parts, and supplies. Lead or direct helpers on job sites as required; ensure safety and professional representation of the dealership. Requires associate degree or equivalent experience (preferred); strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; familiarity with John Deere products; forklift certification preferred. Able to work up to 12-hour days, varying shifts, weekends or holidays as needed; travel overnight is limited (Training).
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or equivalent combination (preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Forklift Certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around shop.
- Proficient communication with teammates; good problem-solving and time management skills.
