Job Summary
Inspect and test heavy machines to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues. Disassemble, repair, or replace broken engine parts, transmissions, and drive trains. Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes and filter replacements. Read technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics while using specialized hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic software. Requires a high school diploma, trade school certification, or three to four years of hands-on diesel experience with strong knowledge of complex hydraulics and diesel fuel systems. Bonus-based compensation and opportunities for advancement are available.
