Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain issues on heavy construction equipment from major manufacturers. Interpret service manuals to identify repairs and order replacement parts while performing preventive maintenance inspections and documenting equipment condition. Maintain accurate records of daily maintenance activities and ensure all work meets high-quality standards and OSHA regulations. Operate tools safely, keep work areas clean, and communicate effectively with supervisors and operators regarding repairs and completed work. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in heavy equipment maintenance or completion of a diesel technology or related technical program
- Proficiency in working with equipment from major manufacturers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, and Gomaco
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, A/C units, and onboard control modules
- Valid Class B CDL with X endorsement preferred, but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced field environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as required by project needs
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb on and off equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Welding and fabricating experience a plus
- Computer skills for diagnostics and reporting preferred
