Job Summary
Disassemble and assemble major powertrain components, clean and inspect parts, and evaluate their re-usability. Perform failure analysis using failed parts, SOS reports, and machine operation data. Read service materials, write clear work orders, and complete EHS inspections while adhering to all safety policies. Serve as the safety leader for the branch, promoting a proactive safety culture and identifying safer work methods. Assist with additional service department duties as assigned. This role offers a salary path with tuition assistance, a boot allowance, and a 60% employer 401K match.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- mechanical aptitude
- ability to safely work with caustic materials
- basic computer skills
- ability to read and follow service material instructions and quotes
- ability to write clear and concise work orders
- ability to disassemble and assemble major powertrain components
- ability to clean and inspect components
- ability to evaluate re-usability of component parts
- ability to perform failure analysis based on failed parts, SOS reports, and machine operation
- ability to identify safer, better ways to work on equipment
- ability to complete EHS inspections and follow all safety policies
- ability to serve as the safety leader for the branch
- ability to promote a proactive safety culture
- ability to assist with additional service department duties as assigned
- ability to be organized
- Knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, shop equipment, tools and supplies
- ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Previous experience preferred: major powertrain rebuilds, spec shop operations
