Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment and commercial vehicles, including excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, and tipper trucks. Perform preventive maintenance, replace defective parts, and conduct emergency breakdown assistance on site. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and transmission systems while maintaining detailed service records and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Work closely with site supervisors and fleet management to minimize downtime. Maintain workshop tools and adhere to all HSE procedures. Minimum two years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician required, with a valid Category C driving licence considered an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy construction machinery and commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, braking systems, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and maintenance schedules
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Must be physically fit and willing to carry out manual work related to the assigned job
- Basic knowledge of spoken and written English
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Desired Qualifications
- Technical qualification or certification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related field
- Experience working within the road construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure sector
- Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service tools
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Valid driving licence (Category C or higher)
