Job Summary
Operate a heavy equipment vehicle according to state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and in a timely manner while obeying all traffic and safety regulations. Deftly maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following crew signals, and assist with loading or unloading goods using specialized equipment. Maintain signed invoices and shipping bills of lading, and facilitate routine service checks on trucks such as oil, water, and air levels. Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns and perform other related duties as assigned. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours and on-call rotation available.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur's license depending on state, appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations
- Must pass DOT physical, as trucks driven are over 10k lbs
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time
- Must be able to travel frequently
- Must hold a valid CDL (Class A) or appropriate chauffeur's license
- Must pass a 10 panel drug screen
- Must be able to remain focused in a busy environment
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
- Must be clean shaven (CDL drivers may be required to be clean shaven in order to deliver to EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement)
