Job Summary
Operate a heavy equipment vehicle according to state and federal laws, transporting loads safely and timely while maneuvering into loading and unloading areas. Assist with loading and unloading goods using specialized equipment, maintain shipping documentation, and perform routine truck service checks. Arrange trailers for optimum shipping yard patterns and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours and on-call rotation available. This role supports EquipmentShare's technology-driven mission to transform the construction industry by empowering contractors through real-time fleet access and innovative support.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
- Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur's license depending on state, appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations
- Must pass DOT physical, as trucks driven are over 10k lbs
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time
- Must be able to travel frequently
- CDL drivers may be required to be clean shaven in order to deliver to EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
- Employment is contingent on passing a background check
- some roles require passing a drug test, depending on the job responsibilities
