Job Summary
The Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of a fleet of heavy equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical, fuel, brake, suspension, hydraulic, cooling, and electrical systems, performing routine maintenance, managing spare parts inventory, scheduling maintenance with the General Manager, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires a vocational/technical degree, two years of service experience, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates should be willing to work in varying weather conditions and pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical degree highly desired
- Two (2) years of diesel mechanic’s service experience in a shop setting or on a military installation preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (Class B CDL a plus)
- Willingness to complete a drug screen, physical and background check
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Tier 4 engine and emissions diagnostics and repair
- ASE Certification
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
