Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic role maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks at WM in a shop setting in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems; estimating time and material costs; following Standard Labor Repair Times; responding to service calls and emergency breakdowns; completing paperwork and documenting parts usage; assisting senior mechanics; ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards; and contributing to a reliable fleet servicing over 20 million customers. Requires 2+ years experience with heavy-duty trucks, a valid driver’s license, ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical, and willingness to work on 2nd or 3rd shift with no weekends. Compensation includes starting pay of $26-$28 per hour plus $3 shift differential, plus benefits such as healthcare, tool/boot allowances, tuition benefits, and a 7500 sign-on bonus.
