Job Summary
Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto refuse truck bodies using safe tools and techniques, including installing accessories like decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights. Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components by reviewing diagrams to perform repairs. Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures and 6S standards while assisting in driving defects back to the point of origin. Validate machine configuration against sales orders and complete the EQC process. This role is part of McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc.'s mission to support waste warriors and keep communities clean and safe.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to interpret and understand work instructions to effectively perform job tasks
- Willingness to learn
- Able to/willing to learn how to operate a truck and transport from one area of the property to another
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months of applicable position experience
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- General knowledge and understanding of hand tools (hammer, grinder, torque, wrench, etc.)
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
