Job Summary
The Heavy Duty Repair Technician at Peterson Cat is responsible for servicing customer and sales rental fleet equipment in the main service shop. Key responsibilities include analyzing and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, performing repairs on engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and hydraulic components, and maintaining accurate service documentation. This role requires excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with customers, adherence to safety procedures, and a commitment to quality work following manufacturer guidelines. Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Diesel Technology or a related field, have at least 5 years of relevant experience, and be willing to join the Operating Engineers union.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Diesel Technology or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy equipment service
- Membership in Local 3 of the Operating Engineers or willingness to join
