Job Summary

Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles, focusing on hydraulics, air brakes, clutches, transmissions, and heavy-duty diesel engines. Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems while interpreting failure modes using electronic diagnostics. Estimate time and material costs, requisition parts, and handle service calls for emergency breakdowns. Review driver inspection reports and maintain a clean, safe work area compliant with Health and Safety procedures. Work Wednesday through Saturday in a 4x10 shift schedule with competitive pay ranging from $48.60 to $54.00. Red Seal certification and 1-3 years of heavy equipment shop experience are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or Commercial Transport Vehicle Mechanic
  • Red Seal Certification
  • 1-3 years' experience in Heavy Equipment Shop or 3-4 years as an apprentice
  • Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well with others in a team environment
  • Commercial vehicle inspector

Desired Qualifications

  • Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement would be an asset
