Job Summary
Complete repairs on CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to detect faults. Evaluate equipment performance, test repaired units against manufacturer specifications, and mobilize machinery for maintenance. Develop work scopes, order parts, and fill out work orders while mentoring apprentices. Adhere to NACG codes of practice and safe operating procedures. Work 12-hour days in a 14x14 rotation at the Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray with provided transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience post Journeyman (Journeyperson) certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators
- Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities
- Capable of working with minimal supervision

- Demonstrate leadership skills in daily work interaction
- A valid Alberta Journeyman (Journeyperson) Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road)
- Provide a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
