Job Summary
Heavy Duty Mechanic needed for a permanent, full-time role based in Burlington, ON. Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of heavy equipment (earth-moving machinery, compaction equipment, aerial lifts, forklifts) with a focus on mechanical and electrical repairs. Expected to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, complete maintenance records, and collaborate with dispatch and supervisors. Independent field-based work with travel to client sites, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to safety. Requires 5+ years of hands-on experience with heavy construction equipment, knowledge of diesel and hydraulic systems, experience with diagnostic software, a full tool set, and a valid Class G license; willingness to overtime and participate in on-call rotations. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of mechanical experience servicing a variety of heavy construction equipment
- Hands-on experience diagnosing equipment malfunctions and performing repairs
- Experience with earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial lifts (telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components
- Working knowledge of diagnostic software and computer applications
- Must have a complete set of tools or be actively working toward it
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driving abstract
- Willing to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation
- Flexibility to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team
