Job Summary
Inspect mining equipment for performance faults, adjust machinery, and repair or replace defective parts according to defined specifications. Test repaired units to ensure operational performance, commission new equipment, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists while staying current with industry developments and technical best practices. Perform risk assessments prior to tasks, maintain hand tools, and ensure all work complies with safety policies and regulations. Work in a 14-14 rotation schedule across surface and underground sites in Western Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (red seal is considered an asset)
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
- Previous experience with equipment would be an asset
- Common Core training is considered an asset
- Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
