Job Summary
Heavy Duty Mechanic responsible for disassembling and reassembling engine, transmission, cooling, fuel/exhaust, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical, and lubrication systems; inspect and test drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, and high-pressure water pumps; diagnose faults with computerized testing equipment; perform preventative maintenance and major repairs; troubleshoot and diagnose to determine repair scope; contribute to apprentice development and teamwork to meet maintenance goals; service attachments and verify emission control systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
- Valid driver's license
- Must be a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyman)
- Interprovincial trade qualifications in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics (Red Seal Certification) preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
