Job Summary
Complete repairs on CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi equipment, including preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Evaluate performance, inspect for faults, test repaired units, and mobilize equipment for maintenance. Develop work scopes and schedules, order parts, and fill out work orders. Mentor apprentices and teach mechanics while adhering to NACG codes and safe operating procedures. Work closely with peers in maintenance and operations at the Suncor Base Plant under a 14x14 schedule with 12-hour days.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience post Journeyman (Journeyperson) certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators
- Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities
- Capable of working with minimal supervision

- Demonstrate leadership skills in daily work interaction
- A valid Alberta Journeyman (Journeyperson) Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road)
- Provide a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
