Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary
Diagnose defects in heavy duty trucks, trailers, electrical systems, brakes, and bearings. Repair or replace components for hydraulics, air systems, axles, suspensions, and bumpers. Perform CVIP inspections, safety inspections, and incidental welding operations on steel or aluminum trailers. Ensure documentation is complete and accurate. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with previous mechanic experience preferred. Candidates must meet physical requirements for lifting up to 50 pounds and working at varying heights. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or other high school equivalency certificate
- Previous experience as a mechanic or related role
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements for the role: Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, to reach with hands and arms, work at varying heights, climb stairs, and/or ladders in FGI facilities, Frequent sitting, standing, and walking inside the branch
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
- Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment used in a workshop
