Job Summary
Heavy Duty Mechanic sought to diagnose and repair underground and surface heavy equipment, including Sandvik and CAT machines, diesel engines, and CAN bus electrical systems. Responsibilities include shop and field repairs, preventive maintenance, maintaining maintenance records, performing pre-operational checks, light welding/fabrication, and supporting other site services. Requires 5+ years of HD mechanic experience, Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman certification, CAN bus electrical knowledge, underground mining exposure, valid driver's license, and ability to work a two-week rotation on remote camp. The role emphasizes safety, OEM manual interpretation, and ability to communicate parts and repair needs clearly; a shift pattern of 12 hours and remote-camp rotation is expected. Bonus eligibility is noted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate as a HD Mechanic (Off-Road)
- Five (5) years’ experience as a HD Mechanic
- Underground Mining industry experience necessary
- Valid driver's license
- CAN bus Electrical Systems
- Excellent hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Basic welding skills
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position
- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp
- Underground and surface environment maintenance experience
