Job Summary
Perform general maintenance and repair on ready-mix trucks, conducting preventative maintenance and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Inspect machinery to identify malfunctions, operate mobile equipment to service downed assets, and weld or fabricate metal parts as required. Communicate repair updates to shop leadership, purchase necessary parts, and provide on-site service support at other plants or job sites. Maintain clean work areas, follow all safety policies, and assist in training co-workers. Full-time permanent field-based position at the Denver Plant with travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of truck mechanic experience
- Solid understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices
- Skilled in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and appropriate safety devices
- Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, including lockout / tagout and special work permits
- Proficient with computers and maintenance-related software systems
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English
- Must supply personal tools up to 3⁄4-inch drive
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High school diploma
- Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software
- Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, crawl, kneel, bend, reach, and push or pull
- Must be able to use fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand / eye coordination, and active hearing and vision
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats
- Must be able to work in regular outdoor conditions with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Must be able to work in environments with regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials
- Must be able to wear additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs
- Must be able to travel to various jobs as needed
- Must be able to complete PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to provide on-site service support at other BURNCO plants or job sites when required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ready-mix or heavy equipment
- High school diploma is considered an asset
