Job Summary
Heavy Duty Mechanic needed at Denver Plant to perform maintenance and repair of ready-mix trucks and heavy equipment. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and electrical/hydraulic systems; diagnosing malfunctions; performing daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles; welding, fabricating metal parts; purchasing parts; providing on-site support at other plants; training co-workers; and maintaining a clean, safe shop. Requirements include 1+ year truck mechanic experience, knowledge of truck mechanics and standard maintenance, proficiency with power tools and safety devices, familiarity with lockout/tagout and permits, computer/maintenance software aptitude, and ability to read/write English; high school diploma is an asset; willingness to travel to job sites; PPE usage; strong teamwork and communication skills. Salary range is $28-$34 per hour, with full-time, permanent employment in Denver, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of truck mechanic experience
- Solid understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices
- Skilled in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and appropriate safety devices
- Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures, including lockout / tagout and special work permits
- Proficient with computers and maintenance-related software systems
- Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English
- Must supply personal tools up to 3⁄4-inch drive
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High school diploma is considered an asset
- Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks preferred
