Job Summary

Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, computer fuel, emissions, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment like chippers, pavers, and rollers. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, safety inspections, brake repairs, and lubrication while documenting mileage, hours, and completing maintenance records. Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or repair work is needed and supply your own tool set for onsite repair orders. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, and lift up to 100 pounds in a noisy environment with many odors. Requires an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and basic welding knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Supply own tool set for heavy highway construction equipment
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industry or heavy-duty training
  • Physical Organization and time management
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
  • Basic welding knowledge/ experience
  • Willing to report to onsite repair orders
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members
  • Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
  • Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
  • Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Desired Qualifications

  • NYS Inspector's License
  • Commercial Driver's License
  • Obtain or willingness to obtain a Medical Card
  • Ability to operate manual transmission or be willing to learn
  • Ability to read and understand SDS
  • Air brake certified
  • Previous industry equipment training
  • Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Basic math skills
