Job Summary
Maintain all heavy-duty equipment and keep it in safe, working order by performing fueling, lubrication, preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, repairs, and rebuilds. Work with the Equipment Superintendent and Operations Manager to ensure reliability while maintaining accurate maintenance records of all work done. Troubleshoot and repair Cat operating systems, order necessary parts, and use computers to diagnose various vehicle systems. Perform these duties independently without supervision while adhering to organizational workflows and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of Mechanical experience in Heavy Equipment, including loaders, excavators, and haul trucks
- Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License
- Knowledge of Cat Operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary
- Ability to order necessary parts to complete maintenance and repairs as necessary
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Ability to work with computers to trouble shoot various systems on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles
- Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows
- Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools – e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‐standard software
- Knowledge of customer service practices
- Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles
- Communication skills (written and verbal)

- Interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have acceptable background check results
Desired Qualifications
- Cat Certified Mechanic
- 15 years mechanical experience
- Class A CDL
