Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on municipal heavy-duty equipment including vacuum trucks, street sweepers, and refuse vehicles. Perform preventative maintenance, complete work orders with accurate documentation, and collaborate with the Service Writer and Parts Department to maximize equipment uptime. Maintain a clean, safe work environment while adhering to regulatory standards. Requires Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson Certificate, three years of experience, and a valid driver's license. Monday to Friday schedule with occasional extended hours; hourly compensation includes signing bonus, profit-sharing, and training incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson Certificate
- recognized interprovincial Red Seal endorsement
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory abstract
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and components
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
