Job Summary
Inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and heavy equipment. Test drive and inspect vehicles, diagnose malfunctions; read and interpret diagnostic test results. Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, etc. Do routine maintenance, oil changes, battery checks, lubricating equipment and parts. Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components. Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, mechanical or electrical equipment. Test-drive vehicles to ensure they run correctly after repair.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from Technical or Trade School
- 1-3 Years Technician Experience
- Current Valid Driver’s License
- CDL and DOT health card preferred
