Job Summary
Heavy Duty Diesel Technician responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in Class 6-8 trucks, performing routine maintenance and complex repairs, using OEM diagnostic software, documenting repairs, communicating findings to Service Advisors, road testing when required, and adhering to OSHA and safety guidelines. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of hands-on mechanical experience (or active enrollment in a diesel program); basic tool set; valid driver’s license; CDL not required but preferred; willingness to obtain CDL a plus. The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing OEM training, and maintaining repair documentation in accordance with dealership standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of hands-on mechanical experience or completion of/active enrollment in an accredited diesel program required
- Basic tool set required – specialty tools provided
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL not required but preferred
- Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) is a plus
