Job Summary
Heavy Diesel Technician position in Anchorage on swing shift (4pm-1am) with a $3 shift differential. Provides maintenance on heavy-duty equipment (tractors, trailers, freight-moving equipment) in shop and via mobile service, including preventative maintenance, fluid changes, and minor component changes. Role includes learning M&R software, performing FHWA inspections, troubleshooting electrical/hydraulic systems, and potential lead responsibilities on projects. Entry-level to advanced mechanics with opportunities for promotion; requires strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics, and willingness to work extended hours in a safety-conscious, team-oriented environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in working on heavy duty equipment
- Ability to work at least 40 hours/week
- Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements (as position progresses)
- Alaska Commercial Driving License with air brake endorsement
- DOT medical card
- Forklift Operation Certification
- FHWA Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.19) and Brake Inspector Qualification Certification (per 49 CFR § 396.25)
