Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and basic repairs on LSPT tractors and trailers, including engine, brake, suspension, and air system inspections. Conduct minor mechanical repairs under guidance, visually inspect trailer bulk transfer systems for leaks, and accurately document all work in maintenance systems. Maintain a clean shop environment while adhering to safety policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures. Participate in on-the-job training, required technical certifications, and a scheduled on-call rotation. Requires high school diploma, 0–3 years of hands-on mechanical experience, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0–3 years of hands-on mechanical experience (commercial or industrial preferred)
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including bending, kneeling, climbing, and working overhead
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a shop environment subject to noise, fumes, and weather conditions
- Participation in on-call rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude with diesel systems
- Foundational electrical and HVAC knowledge
- Ability to safely use shop tools and basic diagnostic equipment
- Basic use of LSPT maintenance, communication, and inspection systems
- Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and follow established procedures
