Job Summary
Monitor assigned construction sites daily, inspect progress, and ensure materials are delivered on time per vendor schedules. Review specifications and drawings to verify construction adheres to contract specs, codes, and industry standards. Report deviations to management and coordinate corrections. Manage project documents, track RFIs, and maintain special inspection records. Facilitate change order negotiations, update schedules, and submit weekly budget projections. Assist with subcontractor billings and ensure compliance with permitting and safety documentation. Distribute project plans and revisions to field personnel and create closeout materials for owners. Communicate regularly with vendors, suppliers, and the project team via meetings, emails, and progress reports. Work long hours including weekends and outside normal hours in variable weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or other related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from work
- Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours
- Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years prior construction site work experience is a plus
- Specific experience in earthwork and/or utility construction is preferred
- Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures related to commercial construction
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels from client, management, to workers and sub-contractors
- Ability to understand plans and specifications
- Attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct discrepancies
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Utilize Viewpoint, Primavera P6 scheduling software, Bid2Win, etc.
