Heavy Civil Project Engineer/ Sr. Project Engineer - Wastewater

Job Summary
Conduct weekly toolbox talks, daily safety huddles, and periodic jobsite safety inspections while tracking incidents and injuries. Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with monthly payment applications, subcontractor invoices, and cost projections including quantity takeoffs and material tracking. Develop project look-ahead schedules aligned with baseline CPMs, monitor progress against approved baselines, and perform daily pay item and production tracking reviews. Prepare Requests for Information, review technical data and shop drawings, and maintain comprehensive job records including daily journals, submittal logs, and as-built drawings. Assist in onboarding new engineers and interns, and support estimating and engineering teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or 4-Year Degree in Construction or Environmental Management
- 2 to 3 years of related experience
- Experience in Wastewater Construction (treatment plants, distribution systems, pump stations, mechanical, instrumentation and control systems; transportation infrastructure)
- Capable of meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated
- Detail oriented
- Highly organized
- Excellent follow-through capability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Accurately process documents
- Perform duties in a timely manner
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to obtain TWIC, DBIDs, or other similar credentials for access to restricted or government sites
- Works within an operating region that may require one-way travel distances of up to 100 miles
- Occasional overnight travel to other regional offices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Wastewater Construction (treatment plants, distribution systems, pump stations, mechanical, instrumentation and control systems; transportation infrastructure a plus)
