Heavy Civil Concrete Finisher

Job Summary
Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, pour and spread concrete to required thickness, and smooth and level surfaces with trowels. Create forms and frameworks as needed while following safety protocols and wearing protective gear. Communicate regularly with crew members and subcontractors to ensure projects complete on schedule and within budget, resolving issues that arise during construction. Assist with training and supervision of Concrete Finisher III personnel. Work on complex heavy civil projects developing innovative infrastructure solutions for grading, excavation, underground utilities, bridge construction, asphalt paving, and pavement preservation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- vocational training in concrete finishing
- 2+ years of experience in concrete finishing
- experience in a construction setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong communication skills
- ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Strong analytical skills
- ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Experience with government contracts and compliance
