Heat Treat Technician

Job Summary
Start ovens and roll out parts when required, choosing the correct oven program and recipe. Operate quench fans and manage temperature gun usage to ensure safe and efficient heat treatment cycles. Lift the oven roof, start second oven cycles, and monitor cooling periods before running out. Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area while wearing all required PPE and following GIW Safety Guidelines. Follow all instructions from team leads and supervisors to complete job requirements. Perform frequently standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and stooping, with occasional overhead work, ladder climbing, and forklift operation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Able to read and understand heat treat work instructions
- Able to choose the correct oven program (recipe)
- Able to use the controller at the oven and from a computer
- Able to use temperature guns safely and proficiently
- Frequently: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling <75 lbs
- Occasionally: Overhead work
- Climbing ladders or stairs
- Driving forklifts
- Operating cranes
