Job Summary
Maintain furnace controls to meet specified process requirements, including carbon settings, soak times, and cooling cycles. Inspect parts before and after heat treatment for conformance using precision instruments, documenting non-conforming items and issuing rejection or rework orders. Record computer data and maintain inspection logs while following lot tracing protocols. Participate in 5S housekeeping and rotate weekly on a 12-hour swing shift (5:00 PM to 5:00 AM). Work in hot, oily, and noisy conditions while adhering to OSHA PPE mandates. Operate independently within a team environment to harden and temper steel fasteners for MNP's complete manufacturing process.
Required Qualifications
- Previous heat treat experience
- Self-motivated; able to work without constant supervision
- Excellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established procedures
- Possesses basic computer skills
- Able to work in a team environment; works well with others
- Able to read work and understand work instructions, blueprints, technical documents, and customer requirements
- Able to do math calculations and work with numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Able to record information and calculate data as needed
- Able and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and MNP
- Able to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditions
- Able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for rotating weekly schedule
- Must be available for 12 hours 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM shift
- Able to pass a pre-employment, post-offer physical, drug screen
- Able to pass a background check
