Heat Treat Operator I

Job Summary
Operate vertical and horizontal heat treat furnaces, rig and fixture products, and set up hydraulic straightening presses, coring, sawing, drilling machines, and gas cutting torches. Control overhead cranes and industrial vehicles including mobile boom cranes. Perform routine preventative maintenance on all machines, maintain housekeeping, and complete all required reports and recordkeeping. Adhere strictly to plant safety rules and quality standards while attending mandatory meetings and trainings. Schedule includes rotating first, second, and third shifts, 24/7 rotations, seven-day schedules, and mandatory overtime exceeding 40 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to rig and fixture products for heat treat
- Ability to operate vertical and horizontal heat treat furnaces
- Ability to set up and operate hydraulic straightening press
- Ability to set up and operate coring, sawing and drilling machines
- Ability to operate gas cutting torches and heat stability machines
- Ability to operate overhead cranes including cab, radio and/or pendulant controls less than 40' and over 40' in elevation
- Ability to operate industrial vehicles and equipment including mobile boom cranes
- Knowledge of plant safety rules
- Ability to maintain highest quality standards in the execution of assigned work
- Ability to maintain all reports and recordkeeping as required
- Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on all machines as required
- Ability to maintain housekeeping in all work areas
- Ability to perform other routine labor work as assigned and as required in accordance with production flow and/or plant needs
- Availability for rotating first second and third shifts
- Availability for 24/7 rotations
- Availability for seven-day schedules
- Availability for times when overtime work (over 40 hours/week) will be mandatory
- Ability to attend all required meetings and trainings
