Job Summary
As a Heat Treat Assistant, you will assist certified technicians with Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and related thermal processes. Responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, and removing heat-treating equipment, preparing components, laying out insulation and heating elements, monitoring temperature controls, and maintaining equipment safety standards. You must have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and a willingness to perform physical tasks, including working at heights and in various environmental conditions. Prior experience in relevant areas is preferred, along with basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening background check.
- Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and measurement devices.
- Willingness to travel and work in various environments is typically found in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other type settings.
- Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience assisting with PWHT, induction heating, or thermal processing.
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience working around power distribution equipment.
- Familiarity with welding, inspection, or other industrial trades.
- Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools/equipment.
