Job Summary
Conduct structured virtual clinics and deliver specialist clinical pharmacy support for patients with ATTR-CM amyloidosis. Review treatment response, optimise guideline-directed medical therapy, and provide education to patients, carers, and clinical colleagues. Act as an active Independent Prescriber to manage cardiovascular care within a multidisciplinary team. This part-time role involves three days per week, with remote work and one onsite day in London. The position is part of the National Amyloidosis Centre support programme at the Royal Free Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- MPharm or equivalent qualification
- current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Active Independent Prescriber annotation on the GPhC register, currently used within clinical practice
- Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification, such as a Diploma or MSc, or an equivalent specialist clinical portfolio
- At least 3 years' post-registration experience as a Heart Failure Specialist Pharmacist in secondary care cardiology or a dedicated heart failure service
- Experience titrating guideline-directed medical therapy for heart failure in a specialist clinic setting
- Recent independent prescribing experience within a cardiovascular scope of practice
- Experience delivering remote or virtual consultations using digital platforms
- Strong knowledge of heart failure pathophysiology, evidence-based management, medicines optimisation and pharmacovigilance
- Confident clinical assessment, risk stratification, escalation and shared decision-making skills
- Clear, empathetic communication skills with patients, carers and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Patient-centred, inclusive and compassionate in your approach
- Highly organised and comfortable working autonomously in a remote clinical model
- Collaborative, with a commitment to safe, joined-up care across NHS, community and homecare pathways
- Committed to continuous professional development, clinical supervision, governance and quality improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting patients with cardiac amyloidosis, ATTR-CM, AL amyloidosis or other rare cardiovascular conditions
- Knowledge of disease-modifying therapies
- Experience with homecare medicines services or specialised commissioning pathways
- Experience contributing to service evaluation, audit, quality improvement or research
- Formal cardiology, heart failure, advanced practice or consultant-level credentialing
