Job Summary
Heart Failure Cardiologist to join Albany Medical College’s Division of Cardiology, participating in the region’s only comprehensive DNV-certified advanced heart failure program. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including advanced practice providers, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac imaging, and cardiothoracic surgery. Focus on care for heart failure patients, including pre- and post-operative management for heart transplant and VAD patients, and contribute to cardiomyopathy programs (hypertrophic and infiltrative disorders). Opportunity to engage in research and teaching for academic appointment, with leadership responsibilities to advance the program’s patient-centered approach. Eligible for New York medical licensure; competitive salary with incentive bonus potential of $350,000–$400,000.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease
- Clinically oriented with sufficient research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment
- Formal training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation, or equivalent clinical practice experience is desired
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of New York
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Leadership qualities and ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, residents, fellows, and providers
