Job Summary
Heart Failure Cardiologist sought for Albany Medical College's Division of Cardiology. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including advanced practice providers, specialists in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac imaging, and cardiothoracic surgery. Provide pre- and post-operative care for heart transplant and VAD patients in partnership with regional academic centers. Contribute to a growing program dedicated to innovative, patient-centered care for heart failure patients. Roles include teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with medical students, residents, fellows, and other providers. Board-certified or eligible in Cardiovascular Disease with formal or equivalent training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and transplantation is preferred; leadership and academic appointment abilities are valued. Licensure in New York required; competitive salary with incentive bonus.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease
- Clinically oriented with sufficient research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment
- Formal training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation, or equivalent clinical practice experience is desired
- Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued
- Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare providers
- Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York
