Job Summary
Orchestrate Fitness to Practise hearings and meetings, delivering up to 15 physical and 20 virtual hearings daily while managing a caseload of substantive hearings. Lead a team to ensure events adhere to NMC standards, navigate high-profile challenges, and resolve escalations through negotiation and numerical analysis. Motivate staff with policy-led management to maintain operational excellence and resource efficiency. Collaborate with colleagues across the NMC and external participants to uphold regulatory decisions and protect the public. This 6-month fixed contract includes hybrid working (two office days weekly) and offers 30 days annual leave, enhanced pension contributions, and life insurance.
Required Qualifications

- Deliver up to 15 physical hearings, and 20 virtual hearings per day
- Use event and people management skills to ensure safe and effective regulation for our registrants
- Own your own caseload of Fitness to Practise substantive hearings
- Apply a robust threshold framework to ensure hearing readiness and resource efficiencies
- Implement negotiation and influencing skills to address escalations and practical issues swiftly
- Utilise keen eye for detail and numerical analysis to find practical solutions
- Forge strong relationships both within and outside the department
- Collaborate on long-term projects that continuously elevate the quality of our adjudication events
- Motivate and engage your team
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and policy-led management to ensure operational excellence and staff empowerment
- Commit to working in one of our office locations twice per week
- Understand that this flexible approach enables us to provide the best possible service to our registrants and reach the outcomes to our cases quickly and within a reasonable timeframe
