Job Summary
Hearing Instrument Sales Specialist Trainee will be trained in hearing aid fittings, service/repairs, and sales, including product knowledge, testing, diagnosis of hearing loss, fittings and sales of hearing products and accessories, patient counseling, and aural rehabilitation. Trainees will be prepared to serve patients remotely through Starkey's TeleHear program; Starkey will sponsor and fund the licensure process. The training program includes apprenticeship with a sponsor, job-shadowing across locations, and travel to other regions for hands-on practice. Key duties include conducting comprehensive hearing evaluations, recommending appropriate solutions based on test results, troubleshooting and servicing hearing instruments, and learning TeleHear tools for remote patient care. Travel to Starkey training events may be required. Core skills include diagnostics, product knowledge, customer counseling, communication, problem solving, willingness to travel, and comfort with online systems. Educational pathway requires obtaining a state dispensing license, with on-site or remote training support as part of the program. Required Qualifications
- High school required
- College degree preferred or equivalent work history in healthcare or technical field
- Bachelor’s in Speech and Hearing Sciences/Communication Disorders ideal
- 1+ years of Sales experience preferred and/or background in medical or hearing aid industry
