Job Summary
The Child Development Specialist will join a pediatric Community Health Center to provide developmental support for children ages 0–3 and assist families through case management during Early Intervention referrals, with a focus on fostering nurturing caregiver–child relationships and healthy development. Responsibilities include participating in team-based well-child visits, offering brief consultations for developmental and behavioral concerns, maintaining a family support line, facilitating parent/caregiver groups, conducting home visits when needed, and coordinating referrals and follow-ups to community resources. Lead the HealthySteps implementation team, collaborate with clinical staff to deliver eight Core Components (including universal screenings and parenting/early learning guidance), and maintain documentation in the Electronic Health Record. Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans for children in foster care, coordinate with birth parents and foster families, and support continuity of care. The role entails flexible scheduling (in-person or hybrid) and potential travel within the community; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree and New York licensure eligibility; prior experience with child welfare, developmental disabilities, mental health, healthcare, or related human services is preferred.
Required Qualifications
