Job Summary
Manage technicians and oversee advanced maintenance, repair, and calibration of complex biomedical and imaging equipment while ensuring regulatory compliance with standards like Joint Commission and FDA. Implement performance metrics, mentor staff, and facilitate training programs to enhance technical skills. Coordinate vendor relations for equipment servicing, negotiate contracts, and support cross-functional teams in medical equipment procurement. Oversee project management for equipment upgrades, installations, and budget planning to ensure projects meet quality standards. Maintain clear communication with senior management and prepare reports on department performance. Occasional travel (0-15%) within the NLH hospital network is required. Monday–Friday 700-1530 ET with manager on-call.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Business, or a related field from a four-year college or university
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or related field
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in healthcare technology management or the medical device industry
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in healthcare technology management (e.g., Joint Commission, FDA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Adaptability to change, managing competing demands, and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Occasional travel (0-15%) within the NLH hospital network
- Monday – Friday 700-1530 ET
- Manager on call required
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Certification in healthcare technology management (e.g., CBET, CHTM), preferred
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP), preferred
