Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision, formulate goal-directed care plans, and administer prescribed medications including IV drips and push drugs. Conduct ongoing physiological, psychological, and cognitive assessments while documenting unit and in-patient records accurately. Safely triage phone calls, assist in teaching classes on cardiac life support, and participate in emergency preparedness drills. Collaborate with the health care team to identify learning needs, resolve staffing conflicts, and implement the Family Advocacy Program. Adhere to Joint Commission standards, complete mandatory annual training on infection control and CBRNE, and maintain HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent
- Successful completion of a minimum of 450 supervised clinical practice hours
- Current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Ability to pass all background/suitability checks
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel locally as needed
- Must be a US Citizen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies
- Ability to obtain/maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) in accordance with DOD and MTF policy/instruction
Desired Qualifications
- A thorough understanding of the military lifestyle and experience working with military family members
- Working knowledge of relevant military, state, federal, and local laws and resources
- Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills
- An active security clearance
