Job Summary
Prepare simple desserts and salads, serve meals in the health center with a friendly approach, set up dining room tables, and deliver hot and cold foods to residents. Clear and refresh tables after mealtimes to support smooth service. This role requires six months of nursing home food service experience, knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitation, and the ability to follow diet orders and interpret specifications. Full-time staff work 1st and 2nd shifts including weekends, while part-time staff work 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with weekend availability. Required Qualifications
- Schedule: Full-time must be able to work 1st and 2nd shifts including weekends.
- Part-time 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and must be available on weekends.
- A minimum of six months' experience in nursing home food service preferred.
- Fundamental working knowledge of therapeutic diets, sanitation and personal hygiene.
- Ability to understand, follow and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Drug-free workplace.
