Job Summary
Conduct security patrols, monitor access control, and provide customer assistance to uphold hospital safety and deter illegal activities. Supervise at-risk patients within the hospital environment and perform other assigned duties while maintaining a visible deterrent presence. Maintain Taser qualifications and demonstrate working knowledge of Conducted Energy Weapon policies. Work variable hours that may exceed 40 weeks and span any day of the week, requiring the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced or quiet settings.
Required Qualifications
- Completed High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
- Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift
- Must be able to move or lift objects up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to help restrain or lift a person
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to meet Tarian driving guidelines if applicable
- Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a Taser position and annually thereafter
- Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a Taser
- Ability to participate in and pass additional Taser training at the discretion of the Taser instructor and/or Tarian
- Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Tarian's Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER), Tarian's Taser Policy
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to engage in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation
- Must be alert and able to perform under pressure
- Must be able to work any of the 7 days of the week

- Must be able to adapt to site-specific requirements and client expectations
- Must be able to provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment
- Must be able to perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Must be able to uphold Tarian's commitment to safety and security
- Must be able to serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property
- Must be able to provide direct security and related public services
- Must be able to support the values and culture of the client and community
